Partnering with Medical Device Innovators

BayCath Medical partners with catheter-based medical device companies to expedite development and mitigate unnecessary delays. Their industry knowledge and infrastructure is available on an as-needed basis to ensure early-stage medical device companies get the support they need without wasting valuable capital.

Their SF Bay Area location encourages in-person collaboration with BayCath Medical engineers. In fact, physicians or engineers with an innovative idea are encouraged to rent desks, R&D workstations, and cleanroom benches in the BayCath facility to confirm their concept with BayCath guidance, as needed.

Improved Patient Outcomes

Founder Michael Brooks has 14 years of direct patient care experience and understands the value of getting medical devices approved for care providers to use.

Too often, startups fail for reasons unrelated to the performance of the medical device itself. Brooks remembers, “I was an engineer at a company with the potential to greatly reduce the need for kidney dialysis worldwide. Unfortunately due to high operating costs, the device never made it to the patients that needed it. Therefore, I have made it my mission at BayCath Medical to help great medical ideas get to the patients that need them.”

Focused on Fast-Paced, Iterative Development

Based in Silicon Valley, BayCath Medical is built around the “fail fast” mentality. R&D device prototypes are quickly iterated alongside customers to find the best solution together. Brooks explains, “We can often prototype several possible solutions at the same time. This parallel path approach drastically reduces the overall development timeline.”

Project management structure is also used to streamline the development process, mitigate unnecessary delays, and communicate project status. Like everything at BayCath Medical, this system is flexible to best meet the specific needs of their individual customers.

Employees First Approach

The contract manufacturing industry is known for prioritizing profit margins over employee well-being. Brooks explains, “Customers come to us for the design and manufacturing expertise we provide. Therefore, we are seeking to retain the best talent in the industry.”

As a millennial founder, Brooks seeks to create the best possible design and manufacturing partner for BayCath Medical customers. BayCath Medical aims to become the industry-leading partner for collaborative, fast-paced and innovative medical device development.
